Why am I seeing errors after editing, or can't edit the Loupe CSV Wizard file?

In this article, we will explain the possible causes and show you how to fix problems you may be experiencing whilst editing the Loupe CSV Wizard file outside of MS Excel or using outdated versions.

Best Practices & Tips

The following are best practices and tips when working with the Loupe CSV Wizard file.

  1. WPS - The Loupe CSV Wizard file does not work with WPS. If you are trying to use WPS to edit the file you will receive errors when trying to upload the file to Loupe.
  2. Old Versions of Excel - Ensure you are using an approved version of Excel. (Excel 2019 or later, or Excel 365) If you use later versions of Excel, you may find errors in the 'OUTPUT FOR CSV' tab of the CSV Wizard file. This is because the file uses newly created formulas that are not available in older versions of Excel. In most of these cases you will see #NAME? instead of calculated values. Below is an example from the V1 OPTIONS column.

Fixing Errors

Below are steps that you can follow to fix some of the most common errors when using an unapproved or older version of Excel.

  1. OUTPUT FOR CSV tab - Delete all errors showing #NAME? in the VT1 OPTIONS column
  2. VARIANTS tab - Copy all data from VT1 OPTIONS (column N)

    N

  3. OUTPUT FOR CSV tab - Select the top cell under VT1 OPTIONS, then select Paste Special then Paste Values.

    PM
  4. OUTPUT FOR CSV tab - Correct the details in EXCLUSIVE MARKET (column ZB) with your choice. For example, these samples have global exclusivity so we put 'All' in column ZB. If you want to set exclusivity at a country level you should input the countries that you would like to set exclusivity to instead of 'All'.
