Private Samples in Loupe

How you can tell if a sample is in a Closed Line, which sizes are in the Closed Line and the markets it applies in.

What does 'Private' mean?

Your vendors in Loupe can set different levels of Privacy for samples. Here are the different ways a vendor can make a sample private to you.

Exclusive

A sample is exclusive to you when your vendor makes the sample Private to only your company in all markets for all sizes.

This means that no other retailers on the platform can see that sample.

Closed Line

A sample is in a Closed Line when it is private to more than one company in all markets for all sizes.

This means that only the retailers that your vendor has specified can see that sample.

Private Markets

A sample can be made private to you, or select companies, but only in markets (countries) defined by your vendor.

This means that if your vendor makes a sample private to you in the USA, any other retailer on Loupe registered in the USA will not be able to see the sample. However, retailers registered in countries that are not the USA, for example Australian retailers, will be able to see the sample in Loupe.

Private Sizes

A sample can be made private to you, or select companies, but only in specific sizes defined by your vendor.

This means that your vendor may have a ring in sizes 5, 6, 7 and 8 but they only make size 8 private to you. This means that all retailers will be able to see the sample but only sizes 5, 6 and 7.

You can also have different combinations of privacy. For example, specific sizes private to you, or a select group of companies, in specific markets.

Identifying Private Samples

You can identify samples in closed lines by looking for the Padlock symbol.

Exclusivity Banner

Closed Padlock

This means that the sample is private to you, or a select group of retailers, in all markets for all sizes. So this sample is either Exclusive to you or part of a Closed Line.

Partially Closed Padlock

This means that the sample is private to you, or a select group of retailers, in either select markets or for specific sizes.

To understand whether the privacy is partial for sizes, you can click through the sizes of the sample and the padlock will be present on the sizes that are private but absent on the sizes that are not.

To understand whether the privacy is partial for market, hover your mouse over the padlock and you will see a rollover.

'Universal' Rollover

When you hover over the padlock and the rollover says Universal, this means that the sample is private to you in all markets. The rollover will always be universal if the symbol on the sample is a closed padlock.

If the rollover specifies countries, these are the countries that the sample or size is private to you in.
